María Victoria Maccarini was born in
Bustinza, Santa Fe, Argentina, in 1993. As
a child, she was lively, cheerful,
mischievous, and diligent in her studies.
During her early years, caring for and
playing with the family’s pets was her
favorite pastime, while she also helped
her grandmother Pichona feed the
animals on the farm.
As time went on, her duties and responsibilities increased, and her involvement with the animals took a back seat. She became more reserved and, latter in her youth, more sociable and independent.
She always had a natural inclination toward inquiry and exploration, which led her to develop an interest in many subjects. Her university years were marked by a constant search for meaning— until 2018, when, during a trip through northern Argentina, she received a copy of Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita. That encounter marked a turning point: a few months latter, moved by the desire to understand those teachings more deeply, she met the devotees of Krishna in Rosario.
In 2023 she married Parama Karuna Dasa, and together they traveled to Spain to live in the New Vrajamandala community, where they both serve in the kitchen and as pujaris, among other duties.
She was initiated by Bhakti Gauravani Goswami Maharaja and received the name Madhavi Devi Dasi. She continues to live in New Vrajamandala, where, through her service in the goshala, she has formed a loving bond with those most special beings—the cows. There, she reconnects with her beginnings and integrates them into her philosophy of life.
