Then He Himself entered those universes in distinct, separate forms. This is expressed by the word pratyaṇḍam, “into each universe.”

The words ekāṁśād ekāṁśāt mean “through each separate expansion.”

Verse 14

Mahā-Viṣṇu personally enters each universe through a separate expansion of Himself. Each such expansion is the soul of His universe, possesses thousands upon thousands of heads, is endowed with His opulence, and exists as a form of the eternal Mahā-Viṣṇu.

Mahā-Viṣṇu, who reclines upon the Causal Ocean, is an expansion of Mahā-Saṅkarṣaṇa. From Him innumerable universes emanate, and He personally enters each of them through a separate expansion of Himself.

Each of these expansions is the Garbhodakaśāyī Puruṣa and is in every respect similar to Mahā-Viṣṇu. Each is also the collective indwelling Supersoul of its universe (samaṣṭi-antaryāmī-puruṣa).
